Hello!

My name is Huimin Liu. I recently completed my Ph.D. in Philosophy at the University of Notre Dame, where I spent six wonderful years working in early modern European philosophy, exploring the interplay between metaphysics, epistemology, and philosophy of mind during this fascinating period. My dissertation examines Spinoza’s doctrine of parallelism and what it reveals about his understanding of thought itself. For the 2025–2026 academic year, I will serve as an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Philosophy Department at Notre Dame. I am looking forward to this opportunity to continue exploring early modern philosophy. I am passionate about both teaching and engaging with the academic community, having presented my work at various academic gatherings and earned recognition for my teaching excellence. Outside of philosophy, I enjoy photography as a creative outlet. For more details about my research, teaching, and photography, please explore the dedicated pages on this website.
